Scene It!

Wow; it’s been 11 days since I last posted a new card here on my blog. No wonder I’ve been having itchy feet (or should I say itchy fingers 😉 ) wanting to make a card…. Anyway, here’s an Easter card I made yesterday for the Stamptacular Sunday’s challenge #51 “Scene it”:

“For this week’s challenge you must create a card or project that has a scene on it. Using stamps or images that already have a scene created on them are NOT allowed for this challenge! This is the perfect time to play around with the masking technique and create your own scene! Your options are endless…let your creativity take you away!”

I used the cute “Some Bunny Loves You” stamp by Wags n’ Whiskers; I cut out the bunnies and placed them onto a background that I had distressed with Tim Holtz “faded jeans” distress ink. The tiny butterfly is from the stamp sheet “Fresh New Day” by Penny Black .  The Easter Eggs are images from another stamp “Surprise”, Stamps Happen.  (Here you can see  a card I made a couple of years ago, using this stamp.)  Finally I thought it’d be fun to add some texture, so I used sisal fibers for the grass. The layout is very simple; as the image is so large, I did not want to cover the pretty backing paper (“Chicken Border”, Crea Motion/ Beatrix Rose House of Art) with layers of other papers. The font used for the sentiment, RM Bunny, I downloaded for free from dafont. Unfortunately it is a bit smudged…my printer is not too impressed with thick card stock papers… 😮 I used my Copics to color all images (sorry; didn’t pay attention to which ones I was using). The yellow Mulberry Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

There are loads more challenges this card could be entered into, but I’m sticking to the rules and I’m only entering this card into the Stamptacular Sunday’s Challenge. I have lots more Easter cards to make anyway… This is the 7th Easter Card I’ve made this year, and with this card I’ve managed half of the load…can you tell I’ll be having a very busy weekend?!
