Yesterday I went to the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show, held at Alexandra Palace in London. This is the first time I’ve been to a craft show: I had been looking forward to it for several months, and it did exceed all my expectations! 🙂 I usually buy most of my material online, so it was great being able to see, feel and also try the stuff before buying. Not to mention that when buying online, one is usually stuck with the problem that the store doesn’t have everything one needs/wants, but at a craft show, one just strolls over to the next stand… 😆 The hardest thing is obviously not to overspend in all excitement…, but I took precautions: I withdrew money in advance and only paid cash, although I must admit it was very tempting to use my card at the end when my wallet was starting to feel light… 😉
So what caught my interest and where did I spend my money? Well, as one can tell from the pics, I bought a lot of embellishments (pearls & charms– it’s great to be able to buy individual charms instead of a 5 or 10 pack of the same kind!) and unsurprisingly plenty of new stamps…
One of my favorite brands of stamps, Whiff of Joy was present at the show, so with them I spent the largest sum (11 new stamps!). I also bought five stamps from Lily of the Valley.
The two single items I spent the most on were the Cuttlebug dies set (15,99) and the Martha Stewart butterfly paper punch (13,99). For several months I had been looking for the fancy corner die, although I wasn’t sure what it was I was looking for; I had seen several people using it on cards and I thought it might actually be a paper punch. That’d have been better because out of the four dies, I’ll probably pretty much only use the fancy corner one, possibly the die with tulips. Nevermind; when I finally found it, I just had to have it! For the last couple of months, the Martha Stewart butterfly stamp had been sold out everywhere I’ve been or looked online, so I was very pleased to get my hands on it as well! 😆
…and if this wasn’t enough; on Friday I received the Stampin’ Up! order I placed before Easter: 🙂
At last I’m a proud owner of the “Just for You” stamp. It took me ages to find out which brand it was, and how it could be ordered… I’m so very happy that it’s now part of my collection 🙂 Thanks Victoria for all your help with the order!
That’s it. I don’t think I need to shop for crafts material for a while now. Or…rather I shouldn’t… 😉
