We’ve had several days now of glorious sunshine and warm weather here in the UK; seems summer has finally arrived! 😮 In order not to miss out on the great weather (who knows for how long it will stay and if we even get more of these days…when living in the UK one is not exactly spoilt with good weather), I was sitting outside in the garden today, coloring this image for this card.
Strawberries are one of the things I associate the most with summer. Nowadays one seems to be able to get fresh strawberries all year around, but when I was growing up in Sweden, they were only available during the summer. During my school summer holidays, I always spent a lot of time together with my grandparents at their summer house. My grandpa loved strawberries, so we used to eat loads, always with whipped cream. Back then we did not have electricity at the summer house, so we had to whip the cream by hand. It took ages, but it was so worth it! 🙂
Now a few words about the card; I wasn’t too sure about the color combo pink/red, but I thought it’d be fun to try something new. The stamp is from Whiff of Joy; I colored Willow, then cut her out and attached her to some foam, which I placed on oval that I had airbrushed (E59, E57).
