Shake It, Baby!

It was sometime before Easter, so more than two months ago now, that I was asked by a friend to make this wedding card for a couple who’s getting married tomorrow. Plenty of time one would have thought, but as May was such a busy month for me (I made four business trips and one private weekend trip, had the parent’s in law over for the Bank Holiday and I was juggling a crazy workload,) I had not gotten around to making the card. Besides, I also tend to leave things to the last minute… The consequence was that I had to put in a night shift to get the card ready on time, but here it is! 🙂

Once again I’ve used the Wedding Stamp from Motivet and colored Doraline & Dexter (which I specifically bought with this card in mind) with my Copics. I haven’t done a Shaker Card in ages, actually probably not since I started with Copics coloring, just because I haven’t been sure if the two (cute/elegant) goes together, but I thought I’d give it a go, and I don’t think it looks too odd, or???

I started by printing the names of the couple and their wedding date on some green scrap paper (Freebooter Script), then I stamped with  the Floral Swirl Frame, cut out a square and used it as background of the Shaker Window. In the past, I’ve always used Stickles around the window frame, but this time I decided to use lace, to complement the cake paper heart. Very Vintage. 🙂

The flowers, but moreover the lovely lovely pearl organza ribbon, which I found in Germany, greatly contribute to the vintage feeling of this card. I hope both the happy couple and my “client” will like it!

Have a great sunny weekend! Here in the UK the weather looks very promising…
