Harvesting Apples

I’ve taken a little break from the X-mas cards production. Now in August I have two birthday cards, one Anniversary card as well as one New Home card that I need to make. This is the first of the two birthday cards and this one’s for my Mother in law:

Encouraged by the success I had with the last Christmas card I made (it was selected one of the Top 5 in the last Allsorts challenge – thank you so much, Fleur!!!), I decided to make yet another card in pink. Recently I ordered some new flower from Wild Orchid Crafts, among those 2-Tone Chocolate Brown Wild Roses; the color is fabulous and I have been dying for a chance to use them.  Therefore, I decided to use my one of my favorite color combos, pink-brown-beige (creme). The papers are again from Maya Design, and the edges have been distressed with a mix of  Vintage Photo and Tea Dye. I followed the sketch from Friday Sketchers, but replaced the circle with an oval as it fitted my image better. Instead of making my own tag, I used an old fairy tag which was a freebie in one of last year’s issues of Cardmaking & Papercrafts. The stamp is an old Sarah Kay stamp, but I just recently bought it with this card in mind; i.e. August being the month for harvesting fruits and berries. Finally; I need to admit that I have become a glitter junkie; I couldn’t keep my fingers away from the glitterpot this time either, so I added some Star Dust Stickles Glue to the flowers…  :-o

  10. Hi,
Your art is very beautiful. I am smitten with the papers of Maja Design, however I cannot find a store selling them here in the US. Can you help me find a store that carries her lines and will sell them to someone in the US?

I would appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thank you so much.

    Regards,
    Kate
