Traditional Christmas
Haven’t posted anything for over a week now. Despite last weekend being a Bank Holiday weekend, I didn’t get around to making any cards. We went to London to help our friends refurbishing their new flat, and this week has been very busy at work, but yesterday I finally sat down and made a card. I made this year’s first Christmas card already back in mid June, thinking I was off to a really good and early start, but time’s flying; I can’t belive it’s September already! But this on the other hand, means it’s only four more weeks until we’re off to our vacation.
3,5 weeks holiday; I can’t wait!!! Aloha Hawaii – see you soon… 😆
But since it’ll be late October when we’re back, I definitely need to squeeze in some more Christmas cards in the coming weeks. I looked around for inspiration in blog land and this week’s letter over at the ABC Christmas blog is “R” for Rudolph. I only own three stamps with a reindeer, this one from Whiff of Joy being my favorite. I’ve already used it for one Christmas card this year; for that card I chose a pastel color scheme, so this time I decided to go with the traditional Christmas colors red and green. I followed the fab sketch from WOJ, and coated the Poinsettas with twinklets as per Bev Rochester’s Tutorial on the WOJ Inspiration- & Tutorial blog. The optional extra for the ABC Christmas challenge is to use brads; which I rarely use, but on this card I managed nothing less than five!
