60 & 65

Good Morning,

I needed to make two male Birthday cards; 60 & 65…This time around I was a bit lazy and used the same layout (see sketch further down) for both cards:

Though I over the last week did enjoy making some different cards (i.e. the Halloween cards), I was quite happy to be back into my comfort zone with distressing and subtle colors again.  For the first one, I reached for my favorite -male- papers “Blue Awning” by K &Company:

Both cards have handmade flowers, made with Whiff of Joy’s Nested Flowers III’ dies, and have been distressed with “Walnut Stain” “Vintage Photo” Distress Inks from Ranger’s. I thought I’d also add some glitter…and as my my one and only “Iridescent Gold” from Tattered Angels is still in the US, I went to a craft store and bought a bottle of “Suede” instead.

Grabbed the second card and started spraying over it. Panic! Suede is so much darker than the Gold, which only leaves a very light shimmer and now I had quite visible stains. At first I thought I was going to have to redo the image, but then once the first shock had settled I started to like it.  I think it adds to the old feel of the card, or???
