The Sketchy Challenges #13: Shabby Chic Heart

Hello and God Jul!
I know some of you celebrate on the 25th, but for most of Europe today is the day, and though I live in the UK, as a Swede I always celebrate on the 24th. Thankfully my husband is German, so he doesn’t disagree. 😀 If things go as planned, when this post is going live, I’ll be in the kitchen, preparing the Julbord (Christmas Dinner).

I recently joined the talented Sketchy Girls, where this week’s sketch has been designed by Lizzie.

Yeah I know; not the ordinary sketch, is it? 😕 😀 I must admit I was a bit stunned when I saw it at first, but after some thinking I got an idea and this is what I came up with:

The base is just a regular piece of cardboard that I coated twice with acrylic paint and then I added some crackle paint and distressed here and there with “Tea Dye”. Did the same for the chipboard letters. The time consuming part and what required a lot of patience was gluing all those roses on… Added “Stardust” Stickles to them, and the heart in the image I covered with “Clear Rock Candy”, which unfortunately doesn’t show up very good in the pics. Then some liquid pearls; had my first bottles delivered the other day and I got to tell ya': I”m already hooked on that stuff. Just wish it’d dry a bit quicker… 😛
