I ‘ve always been facinated by Mariska‘s beautiful 3d paper piecing images, so yesterday, after having watched Mariska’s tutorial videos, I decided to have a little play with it.
The image I used is Molly the Elf from Saturated Canary. I was browsing through Krista’s images the other day and before I knew it 4 SC images had been checked out. 🙂 All in all I made 11 pieces of Molly and her list. Probably not the ideal image to try this technique out for the first time; as you can see I messed up in the middle part, but I think it’s not too bad for a first attempt, or? Becoming anywhere near as good as Mariska would take a lot of time and practice though, that’s for sure. And patience, which I’m not too sure I have! 😉
This is also my card for the LLC Inspiration Blog, where this week’s theme is SNOW. I scattered Snow-Tex all around the card, especially on the flowers and around the sentiment. The sentiment is close to antique; I think it’s from Penny Black as it was originally mounted on a wood block. I was going to dispose it already a couple of years ago, but something held me back,so instead I just stripped it off the block and kept it. I’m glad I did because I really like it and use it at least a couple of times every year for my Christmas cards.
