Hi there; Saturday again and time for a new sketch over at the Sketchy Challenges.
Our hostess this time is Karen and here’s her sketch:
Over at the LLC Inspiration Blog, the DT has this week worked magic with monochromatic creations and day after day they have surprised me with their colour choice. You see I have been playing a little guess game with myself… 😆 .. Tracy was the hardest one to predict, as she likes most colours but I guessed aqua and she did brown. From Tina I thought I’d see something in pink or purple, but no, she did blue (aqua). With Becky I was sure she would choose lilac/purple, instead she picked pink. Elin I thought would go with pink, nope instead it was all white. I finally got it right yesterday, with Karita’s choice, white.
As for myself, I chose to work with different shades of browns. Brown is one of my favorite colours of all times, I think it goes well with just about any colour and it´s also beautiful on its own. As a teenager my mum used to refer to me as “the brown mouse”, as I’d always wear brown clothes. 😕 Anyway; here’s my card:
In each Maja Design collection there are usally som sheets with brown tones, and here I’ve used papers from three different collections. The picture of the Eiffel Tower is from the Vintage Summer Basics collection, the backing paper from the Shall we have Coffee collection and the middle part is from the latest Christmas collection.
Here are some close ups:
The 3D Eiffel Tower is one of my favourites from the many new charms that I’ve recently had delivered. As you can see, on this side it says “Paris”, and one of the other sides it says “France”.
I’ve distressed all edges and the sentiments (Whimsy Stamps/Magnolia) with “Walnut Stain” and “Tea Dye”, my favourite distress ink colours together with “Vintage Photo”. The image is the stunning “Miss Mirabelle” by Hannah Lynn.
