I ♥ Alma’s

Yesterday it was my turn to post on the LLC Inspiration Blog.
Some time before Christmas, DT Member Elin asked to set her own challenge for the LLC DT, and she chose this tutorial on how to make a Book Card by Wenche. I’ve never done anything like this and I’m a bit scared of what I like to refer to as “technical cardmaking”, LOL, but luckily I’m not posting until Saturday, so I had 5 beautiful projects by the DT Members to look at and get inspired by. 🙂

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again; I think Alma’s Sewing Room is Pion Design’s best collection ever! I’ve been drooling all over the LLC DT members’ creations made with Alma’s, and despite the fact that I’ve now had the collection in stock for almost 2 weeks, it was not until yesterday that I finally got to cut into the lovely papers myself.

I ended up making the frame three times. 🙂 At first I did one with width 10cm x 24cm and height 12cm x24cm, however it was too small for what I had in mind, so I changed the dimensions to 12cm x16cm, but then I thought the frame was too deep with the 24cm, so for the third one I kept the 12×16 cm dimensions, but changed it to 18cm.

Since this collection is all about sewing, I decided to continue that theme throughout the whole card…prepare for a picture marathon… 😳 😆

Now some details…
The Dress Form and the Sewing Machine were both cut by my Cameo.
I added some Melissa Frances Pearls to the sewing machine and decorated the dress form with a rose from Maya Road’s Organza Rose Trim, and a piece of Pearl String.
The mini sewing rolls were painted with gesso, and the sentiment was distressed with “Victorian Velvet”.

Also the dress form clip is from Maya Road and has been painted with gesso.
The berries are a gift from Chelsea (thank you Sweetie, they’re gorgeous – I had to use them straight away).

Yet another shot of some details…
Here’s the cute scissors charm, accompanied with some more Maya Road Mini Sewing Rolls. I coloured the thread with my Copics (V93, RV91 & RV93).

This is the back…and now we’ve switched theme to butterflies. 🙂
Can you take one more? 😉  Here’s the last pic – a side view:
Thanks so much for visiting today. Take care,
Sandy xx
