I’m thrilled to have been invited to guest design for Sugar Creek Hollow again (thank you soooo much Cec & team!), and today I finally get to show what I’ve made. 😆
Be warned though that this is a picture heavy post…
The theme for this week’s challenge is to alter something in shabby chic/vintage style.
I shall admit that when I first found out about the theme I panicked a wee bit; I’ve never altered anything before, believe it or not. 😳 But a challenge is a challenge and as I couldn’t find anything suitable at home, I took a trip to Tesco (large supermarket here in the UK). In the aisle with chocolate, I found a cool shaped box:So I’ve turned a Smarties’ Hen House into a shabby chic bicycle shed! LOL
All the papers used for this project are from different Pion Design collections.
For the the front I used the backside of Tags/ Grandma’s School Book. The doors were cut out from Red Clover 12×12, also GSB. The strip is from the Border Sheet.
Above the doors, there’s a Melissa Frances Chiswick resin frame with an image from the sheet Cakes 6×6 (For Mother Collection). On the right hand side of the doors I placed two mini bark hearts (I love these!) and the butterflies were cut from the Border Sheet, GSB again. On the left, there’s a branch of white Kort & Godt Hortensias.
Inside the shed is the gorgeous XL sized vintage bicycle metal deco.
Here’s the roof, seen from a bird’s perspective:
Around the edges of the roof I used “Lace Madeleine” and on the inside Maya Road’s Organza Roses Trim. The wide trim strip in the middle is the Tea Garden Trim from Maya Road.
I thought a feather and the bird nest charm would be suitable for the roof!
The large flower is made up of one white Maya Road organza rose, then I added some of the Bubblegum Tulle and finally a slightly distressed rose on top.
This is what the backside of the shed looks like:
The paper used is the backside of Forest 12×12 (GSB) and the strip is from the Border sheet. The gorgeous bunny images are from the Image sheet / Fairytale of Spring.
Of course the little cute Bunny Charm had to be included!
I used three colours of Seam Binding (Winter White, Blush Pink and Sweet Sage) and pleated them together for the banner, but then I covered most of it up with the sentiment, LOL . The letters are from the Letter sheet (GSB again) and reads “Glad Påsk”, which is Swedish for Happy Easter.
