LLC: Card for a Child

This week’s theme over @ the LLC Inspiration Blog has been to create a ~birthday~card for a child. Since my Godson’s 7th birthday is coming up in May, I decided to make his card. Gosh; it’d seem I’m very organized…well let’s not talk about all the birthdays I’ve missed so far already this year… LOL

I learned from DT Member Elin earlier this week that stars are the hottest thing at the mo., and as you can see, I’ve taken her word for it. She better be right…LOL
The star border and the grungy star frame I cut out with the Cameo. It did a much better job on the star border when I did a testcut and used regular cardstock, it always struggles a bit with the thickness of the Maja Design papers. Speaking of the papers, they’re of course from Maja Design’s Vintage Spring Basics Collection (looooove these) though the star patterned paper is from Life by the Sea.

Now; decorating cards for small girls is easy…most of them like all things pretty: pink & purple and hearts & pearls & lace & flowers, very much like the LLC DT Members, I’d say, but for boys and males in general…ohhhh that’s harder. Luckily I had just gotten some new cool bellies from Prima in stock, and here I used one of the Roman Numerals (XII) and one of the small typo bulbs. New are also the mini bags from Canvas Corp., available in kraft and white.
Frantage and Snow-tex scattered all over the card for some shabby effect.
Challenges I’d like to enter

Moving Along with the Times – Kraft
Southern Girls – #66 Stripes
Cards und More – #79 Add some Metal

Thanks for stopping by.
