It’s the 15th of the month and time for the CLP Midway Reminder. This is what the September sketch looks like:
…and here’s my take on it:
This card is coming from the heart and is part of the surprise myself and the LLC DT have put together for the lovely Louise, who today is posting her last card as a LLC DT Member.
It’s with tears in my eyes I’m writing this; Louise has been part of the LLC DT for more than 9 months, so we’re all going to miss her tremendously.
It’s been a great pleasure and privilege having Louise on the team. She’s an amazing person; positive, enthusiastic, full of ideas, caring for others, and she has a great sense of humour. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know her. Before Louise joined the LLC Design Team, I had only heard rumours about what a sweet person she is. Let me tell you; they were wrong. The rumours didn’t do her justice; in real life she’s even nicer!
When I think of the crafter Louise, I think of an extremely talented young lady who comes up with some of the most creative projects I’ve ever seen. Please visit the LLC Blog and have a look for yourself!
I’ve always referred to Louise as the Shabby Chic Princess. Her shabby crafting style is unique. Louise was the one who brough the word “shabbotage” into my dictionary, and I love this term, it always puts a smile on my face. 🙂
You know how pictures of cards and projects you see in blogland sometimes don’t do them justice and you miss out on some details. Well; I’m lucky enough to have one of Louise’s cards that she sent for my birthday at home, so I’ve been able to study her shabby style close up.
I’ve done my best to incorporate Louise’s style on this card and I’ve used some of Louise’s favourite LLC products:
I should probably have used a Tilda since Magnolia is by far Louise’s favourite stamp brand, but instead I used this cutie from Saturated Canary.
There’s white crackle paint scattered all over the card, Louise’s trade mark.
She also loves flowers….(OMG I lost count how many times Louise asked about when the WOC flowers would be delivered after I had placed my order. LOL) …so I’ve used as many as I could fit in. Then I was a bit torn wheather I should use seam binding for the bow or the organza ribbon, but I thought others might be using the seam binding, so I went with the pink organza ribbon, which I know she really loves.
Obviously I had to use papers from Maja Design’s Sofiero collection – the pink fan she is, they are her favourites, and then there’s shabby pink frantage as well…
I hope you like it Louise! Thanks ever so much for your hard work for LLC and for being my friend. I hope you’ll get to spend a lot of quality time with your girls and family, that’s most important for you right now, but I also hope that we’ll see you returning to the craft world not to far away in the future.
Hugs and Kisses and thanks from the bottom of my heart.
I will miss you soooooooooo much Sweetie,
