This month’s LLC Blog Challenge has the easy theme “In the Garden“.
A perfect theme for what I had in mind for my present for Mother’s Day (which in Sweden is always the last Sunday in May). Well, didn’t manager to finish it before then, nor in time for the challenge, but I finally managed this week. 🙂I’ve altered a shoebox into this, which I thought might be cute to store seeds in.
The papers used all around the box are “Beige Ornament” and “White Flowers” both from Pion’s “A Day in May”collection. The lace all around the box is “Désirée”, with ivory sunflower pearltrim in the middle. The ruffled trim in front is from my stash.
On the sides, I attached sentiment stripes from Pion’s Vintage Garden collection (border sheet).
The tag is from Riddersholm Design.
It was soooooo much fun decorating the lid! 🙂 The backing paper is the beautiful “Lily of the Valley”, from Pion’s beloved “Fairytale of Spring” collection, now discontinued. It was the last sheet I had left 🙁 , but I’m glad it got used for a special project. 🙂 All images except from the one in the left hand corner are from Pion’s Vintage Garden, the pink-brownish tag is from Riddersholm Design.
Isn’t the little bucket charm totally adorable?!!!
The large metal decoration in the middle has been embossed with “Shabby Green” frantage, and around it are an array of Wild Orchid Crafts roses in 30, 20, and 15mm (in deep ivory and ivory), some Kort & Godt Chrysantemums, pearlstamens, beaded berries, and the delicious green pomegranate apples.
The inside I kept rather simple; just some DP (from Graphic 45), a piece of rose organa trim, and two more Vintage Garden images:
The carton was painted white with gesso.
Thanks for stopping by; hope you like the box and that you’ll join in with LLC’s June Challenge!
